Monolith - Anemone - Pulled by the Weather

Our sense of life is created by our relationship to everything that surrounds us, that with which we interact, and the perspectives that have been both consciously and unconsciously shaped by all that we touch in this life. Like a web that is continuously pulsing by the very breath that creates it, these relationships shift with each new reference, and, in turn, each new reference becomes an intersection from which to explore new understandings.

These small works explore the way color and mark interact with one another on a page, and how the mind creates form, feeling, story and meaning from color and mark. They are spontaneous and emotive, and created by the interaction of mark, space, and color. Much like a diary and created over a one year period beginning in late 2020, this collection of pieces begins with Monolith and culminates with Pulled by the Weather, partially shown at Walla Walla Art Squared one year later in October 2021.
